Choosing the Right Eyeshadow Color
Eyes are the most striking feature of any face. Looking into someone’s eyes is a non-verbal and non-physical way of establishing contact, and because we humans crave for contact, you can say that eyes are drawn to other eyes. Eyes are an important part of our faces’ visual appeal, and that’s why there’s such a variety of products that are used to make eyes look prettier - like eye shadow. It comes in many different colors, and choosing correct eye shadow can be a real pain if you don’t know how to do it. There are three things with which you need to coordinate the color of your eyeshadow - the skin tone, the color of your eyes, and the color of your hair. Your skin tone is either warm, which means it has yellowish undertones, or cool, with pink or even blue undertones. For warm skin tones, pink, bronze, or light brown would be good eyeshadow colors to choose, while cool skin tones are great for light blue, gray, silver, or deeper shades of green. When you need to match your eyeshadow color with the color of your eyes and hair, you’ll be at a great advantage if you’re a brunette with brown eyes, because every color goes well with brown, with silver being an occasional exception. For blue eyes, dark brown and cool colors are the best eyeshadow colors to choose, although orange also works very well. Hazel eyes look best with purple, brown, yellow, gold, bronze and green, but never with blue eyeshadow. Green eyes are best complemented by purple and green eyeshadow, although different shades of brown work well, as do bronze and even charcoal gray. As for choosing the eyeshadow according to your hair color, blonde hair goes well with blue, gold, gray and pink, and maybe some shades of green. Brown and black hair goes with everything, and red hair goes well with olive, pink, and gold. Of course, you should always give yourself some freedom to experiment with the colors of your eyeshadow, as long as you do it in the privacy of your bathroom and have someone give you an honest assessment of the results. Makeup can be very fun, and while following these suggestions might take some creativity out of the process, it will also ensure you get results you won’t be embarrassed for other people to see.
